Find a place to intern
The first step is to look for internship opportunities. I am pretty sure you are wondering okay great but where do I find these opportunities? I am so glad you asked. You find those opportunities in this blog post that I shall link [here].
Give yourself up to three months to look for a place to intern. Do not wait until the last month or you will be in big trouble, I am telling you now. Also, take into consideration that as a result of COVID-19 there are a lot of companies that went under, and as such opportunities might be slightly harder to come by depending on the industry you are interested in.
Get the internship forms from the USIU website
Once you have found a place you are interested in, send in your resume, of course, what follows are interviews and the like. Once all that is done and you are successful, get the internship forms from the USIU website, there are four of them:
https://www.usiu.ac.ke/resource-downloads/?theme=internship_downloads
- Internship contract
- Internship indemnity form
- Internship evaluation form
- Internship daily diary
Send your employer the contract
Once you have signed your internship contract between you and your employer there is another contract to be signed and stamped for the school along with the indemnity form. Once these are signed and stamped you shall email them to the internship office @
in********@us**.ke
.
Once you have emailed those two documents to the internship office you will be notified and enrolled in the internship class.
